As streamers aspire to Twitch fame, the platform’s biggest names have already amassed millions of followers. These are the top 20 Twitch streamers with the most followers as of August 2025.
The world of streaming is experiencing explosive growth, especially with heightened competition from YouTube and Kick, yet Twitch still holds its position as the premier destination for live-streamed content.
At the very top of the pile are those streamers with millions of followers, who regularly attract tens of thousands of viewers as soon as they go live. Some of these streamers have been around for over a decade, while others are much newer.
These are the most-followed streamers on Twitch.

Ninja overtaken by Ibai for most Twitch followers
After years at the top, Ninja is no longer the most followed Twitch streamer, as Ibai has overtaken his count at 19.5 million followers. Ninja still boasts with over 19 million followers too, but he has been stagnat for some time, while Ibai’s record-breaking “La Velada del Año V” streams have catapulted him to the top.
Kai Cenat is also growing rapidly and holds the record for most subs at one time, and he has now secured his spot as the second most-followed NA streamer, and third overall, behind Ninja and Ibai. He is very close to overtaking Ninja for second place.
Tfue, xQc, and shroud are the next NA-based streamers in the list, all with over 10 million followers. Tfue retired from streaming and then moved to Kick, so his spot will be up for grabs.
Streamers move to co-streaming on multiple platforms
A number of the top 20 Twitch streamers by follower count moved to YouTube, such as Myth and TimTheTatman, before returning to either stream only on Twitch, or co-stream on many platforms.
Some streamers, like Dr Disrespect, are no longer counted in the list as their accounts are permanently banned. Adin Ross has now been unbanned on Twitch, and his follower count is climbing again – his channel had 7.25 million followers when he was banned, which would place him 19th on the list.

Although he’s largely moved on from the game now, Tfue was the only Fortnite streamer who could rival Ninja during the game’s prime in 2018, and later usurped him in viewership in 2019. Ninja’s move to Mixer made way for him to top the charts, but he now rests at ninth overall.
Tfue retired from streaming in 2023, however, he made a return in November 2023 with a signing to Kick. Just like xQc, he splits his time between Kick and Twitch, but streams more on the former.

He was the most-watched streamer in 2021 and 2022, however, he lost the streak to Kai Cenat in 2023.
xQc’s signing with Kick most likely had something to do with it, as he now splits his streaming time between Twitch and Kick.

Now in the top three for followers, and with over 18 million, he can now set his sights on becoming number one.
1: Ninja – Followers: 19.2 million

- Real name: Tyler Blevins

- Age: 33
- Known for: Fortnite
Like Tfue, Ninja may not be dedicated to Fortnite anymore, but it’s certainly the game that helped him reach never-seen-before levels of popularity on Twitch. A former Halo pro, he now plays a variety of big titles and reclaimed his crown as the most-followed Twitch streamer.
However, with the Fortnite boom well and truly over, Ninja’s stats for viewership did drop. In September 2022, he announced that he was taking a break from the internet for an indefinite period of time. He’s back streaming regularly now, but does so to fewer viewers, meaning his follower count has stagnated somewhat. His top spot may not be safe.
