Astronomer CEO steps down after getting caught cheating on his wife at Coldplay concert

Astronomer has launched a formal investigation after CEO Andy Byron appeared in a viral video filmed at a recent Coldplay concert, the company confirmed. Additionally, he’s stepped down from the company, and they’ve put an interim CEO in his place.
The clip, which surfaced earlier this week, shows a man identified as Byron in the crowd during the band’s Music of the Spheres World Tour. The video quickly spread on social media, with some users alleging inappropriate behavior, though specific details have not been officially confirmed.
“Either they’re having an affair or they’re very shy,” said Coldplay’s Chris Martin after the man and woman in the clip hid from the camera.
Astronomer responds after Coldplay clip goes viral
In a post on LinkedIn, Astronomer revealed they have launched a “formal investigation” into the situation and shared that Andy Byron was the only employee in the video.
“Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding,” they said. “Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability.
“The Board of Directors has initiated a formal investigation into this matter, and we will have additional details to share very shortly.”

According to the company, Alyssa Stoddard, one of the women Byron was allegedly seen with, was not actually at the event, and “no other employees” were in the video.
They also clarified that an alleged statement from Byron that has been circulating around social media is not real, and that people saying otherwise are “all incorrect.”
In the meantime, Astronomer put Byron on leave and slotted interim CEO Pete DeJoy into his role. But Byron wouldn’t stay with the company much longer.
Andy Byron steps down as Astronomer CEO
Less than a day after being placed on leave, now-former Astronomer CEO Andy Byron officially stepped down. The news wasn’t announced via his own social channels or LinkedIn. Rather, it was announced by Astronomer themselves now that Byron has erased most of his social media presence.
“Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and recently, that standard was not met. Andy Byron has tendered his resignation, and the Board of Directors has accepted. The Board will begin a search for our next Chief Executive as Cofounder and Chief Product Officer Pete DeJoy continues to serve as interim CEO.
“Before this week, we were known as a pioneer in the DataOps space, helping data teams power everything from modern analytics to production AI. While awareness of our company may have changed overnight, our product and our work for our customers have not,” their statement on LinkedIn reads.
Coldplay’s tour has been going on since 2022, and features a section of the show where a camera shines a spotlight on people in the crowd. This information may have been useful to know for Andy Byron before he decided to attend.
