Elden Ring on Switch 2 comes with new content but it’s not free on other platforms

Elden Ring Tarnished Edition

The Switch 2 port of Elden Ring will come with a handful of new content to enjoy on the next-gen hybrid console.

Nintendo announced the Switch 2 on April 2, 2025. Along with a more in-depth look at the hardware, the company revealed a handful of first and third-party games coming to the console.

Among those third-party games is Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition, a new version of the title that bundles the base game with its DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree.

That’s not all that it comes with, however, as FromSoftware has just revealed a handful of new content coming to the special edition game.

Switch 2 Elden Ring comes with new content

According to Nintendo Life, the Switch 2’s Tarnished Edition will feature an entirely new set of content that will launch on other platforms as the Tarnished Pack DLC.

In it, you’ll receive two new character classes dubbed ‘Knight of Ides’ and ‘Heavy Knight,’ as well as four new sets of armor, weapons, and combat skills.

On top of the new content, there will be three new appearance options for your trusty Spirit Steed, Torrent.

The only thing we don’t know about Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition at this point is the exact launch date, as Nintendo and FromSoftware have only revealed a 2025 release window at the time of writing.

It’s not the only game that’s waiting for an exact release date, either. After years of waiting for news, Nintendo’s April 2 direct confirmed a 2025 release window for Hollow Knight: Silksong.
