Diablo 4 is constantly receiving content updates and still retains a steady player count in 2025. Let’s see how many there are now that we’re a few months removed from the Vessel of Hatred DLC.
Blizzard keeps Diablo 4 updated with seasonal content every few months, as well as annual expansions. Players often return to the game after taking a break, but not every season will be enough to tempt every player – and after trying every character class, some players may be done with the game until the next major expansion.
If you’re curious about how the player base looks in May 2025, we’ve got an overview below.
Updated May 9, 2025, with player count information.

Diablo 4 player count
According to Active Player, Diablo 4 has averaged 3,238,566 in April.
This is lower than the 3,465,190 it received throughout March 2025, likely due to excitement around the Witch Powers and Season 7 washing out.

In April 2025, Diablo 4 saw a drop in its average player count compared to the previous months. The chart shows that April had just over 3.2 million average players, which is the lowest figure between December 2024 and April 2025.
In comparison, February 2025 had the highest average, slightly above 3.4 million players. December 2024 and March 2025 both had strong player numbers as well, just under February’s peak. January 2025 saw a slight dip from December but still remained higher than April.
This trend suggests that while Diablo 4 maintained a fairly stable player base over the months, interest slightly declined in April. The drop could be due to seasonal changes, lack of major updates, or new competition in the gaming market.
Sadly, Blizzard doesn’t publicize the exact number of players across all versions of Diablo 4, so we have to rely on a third-party tracker to get an approximate estimate of its current player count.
Player count compared to other ARPGs
While Diablo 4 is the latest installment in the beloved franchise, past entries are still popular. Diablo 3 may not be reaching quite the same heights as 4, but it’s still got a solid player base over a decade since launch.
Mobile game Diablo Immortal also has plenty of players logging in daily to get their fix on the go. Other ARPGs like Last Epoch and Path of Exile had soared ahead in terms of player count, but no longer hold the top spot.
