Best Evade Eagle Spiritborn build in Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred

The Evade Eagle build for the Spiritborn class is one of the most overpowered in Diablo 4 Vessel of Hatred right now if you build it right – so here’s how to do exactly that.

The Vessel of Hatred expansion introduced the Spiritborn class to Diablo 4, a shamanistic warrior who’s an evolution of the Witch Doctor class from Diablo 3. As a brand new class in Season 6, the Spiriborn doesn’t have as many builds as the other classes on our tier list

However, some are doing exceptionally well this season, one of which is Evade Eagle. And if the name didn’t give it away, it goes all in on the Eagle path, using it as both Primary and Secondary paths – with the Evade ability being used to move around the battlefield at speed.

When you start a new character, if you’re a returning player, you’ll likely have lots of skill points ready to assign from your Renown or by being boosted to level 50 from the start.

But if you’re a new player, you’ll need to start from scratch. The good news is you’ll be able to hit level 50 very quickly in the post-Season 6 version of Diablo 4.

Below, we’ve detailed how many skill points you’ll need to assign to each passive and active skill using your leveling and Renown points.

You may find yourself needing to select other skills to progress across the skill tree. That’s okay, just respec to the ones included in the build once you’re able. Who knows, you may create a custom build that suits your needs better.

Spirit Hall

At level 15, select Eagle as your Primary Spirit animal and ‍Gorilla as your secondary. This will ensure that both your movement speed (through the Storm Feathers ability) and Resolve remain buffed at all times.

Best Evade Eagle skill rotation

When running the Evade Eagle build, you’ll need to make sure that you use your skills in the following order against mobs and elites:

  • Armored Hide
  • Counterattack
  • The Devourer (Ultimate)
  • Soar
  • Now we can use Evade
  • Thunderspike

This simple skill rotation should feel natural to use in order to dish out damage to your enemies.

  • First, cast Armored Hide and Counterattack to buff yourself as you approach mobs then hit them with your Ultimate skill, The Devourer, to do maximum damage.
  • As the mob gets close, cast Soar to crush a wave of them, then Evade to give yourself some room
  • From here, cast Thunderspike on nearby enemies and Evade again until you repeat the cycle of evading and Thunderstriking.

Powers of Witchcraft

Season 7 adds Witch Powers to give each character a boost and something new to do this season. While all Witch Powers are beneficial, some are more suited to certain classes and builds.

For this build, choose the following Witch Powers:

  • Aura of Siphoning – Casts an aura that heals you.
  • Hex Specialization – Boosts critical strike chances.
  • Hex of Shattering Reduces damage
  • Soul Harvest – Sucks the life from nearby enemies.
  • Aura Specialization – Expands aura size and slightly buffs critical strike damage.
  • The Cycle – Grows a flower that poisons enemies and heals allies

Powers of Witchcraft may disappear after Season 7, but they could return in another form like Vampire Powers and Malignant Hearts did.

Best Occult Gems

Here are the best Occult Gems for this build:

  • Cornucopia – Boosts Barrier Generation and Thorns.
  • Voice of the Stars – Boost damage for ‍The Seeker
  • Friend of the Bog – Boosts skill damage, armor, resistances and health.

Best Paragon Glyphs

Once you reach level 60, you’ll gain access to the Paragon Board to continue leveling. You’ll essentially boost your stats each time you unlock a node, but eventually, you’ll need to select a Glyth for a more substantial upgrade.

More of these will unlock as you progress, so select the following Glyphs to maximize the potential of this Spiritborn build:

Level 15

  • ‍Fulminate
  • ‍Jagged Plume
  • ‍Talon
  • ‍Spirit
  • ‍Colossal

Level 46

  • ‍Jagged Plume
  • ‍Spirit
  • ‍Fulminate
  • ‍Talon
  • Colossal

Best Mercenaries

The top recommended primary mercenary for leveling a Spiritborn in Diablo 4’s Vessel of Hatred expansion is Varyana. Not only will she buff your speed as her killstreak increases, but she’ll also distract and tank a lot of enemies, making it easier to use Evade while picking them off.

Consider using Raheir as your reinforcement merc. His defensive buffs will help keep you alive should you get caught by a mob. This will make it easier for you to cast Soar or Evade when in a tricky spot.

Building the Evade Eagle for PvP

Currently, the above Evade Eagle build will serve you well in PvP as it does in all other areas of gameplay. Not only is the Spiritborn an S-tier class in PvP this season, but the Evade Eagle build, while not as overpowered as the Quill Volley build, is still an effective choice.

As a build based around the Evade skill, it’ll be difficult for other players to attack you as you dart all over the map. Casters and ranged enemies may have some luck, but melee-focused opponents are in for a tough time against you.

Now you’re up to date with how to best build the Evade Eagle in Season 6 of Diablo 4 if you want to make sure to check out the best classes to run as a Barbarian, Sorcerer, Rogue, Druid, and Necromancer. If you’re curious as to where your favorite build shapes up in the current meta, our Spiritborn tier list has all you need to know.
