New Destiny 2 Trace Rifle has guaranteed god roll you can farm in 30 minutes

A side profile of the Warlord's Spear trace rifle in Destiny 2.

This week in Destiny 2 saw the return of Iron Banner, with a new Trace Rifle making its debut and Bungie has been surprisingly generous in making it very easy to farm.

Warlord’s Spear is an Arc Trace Rifle that is available from Lord Saladin in The Tower as a reward for reaching Rank 4 in Iron Banner.

All you have to do is play a few games while wearing Iron Banner armor, and you can get these ranks in no longer than 30 minutes. It really is just a case of completing two or three games and you’re done, regardless of whether you win or lose. Afterward, you can head over to Lord Saladin and claim your prize easily enough.

Of course, seasonal vendors always give out new weapons to allow Guardians to focus them, but these curated rolls usually leave a lot to be desired. That’s not the case this time around, with the perks on offer being arguably the best you can get on the new Trace Rifle.

Warlord's Spear god roll in Destiny 2.

Warlord’s Spear is one of the rare cases where using Chambered Compensator is preferred over Arrowhead Brake. This is because it gets 100 Recoil Direction regardless, so the Stability benefits provided by this less popular barrel are more impactful, especially when paired with Particle Repeater for an additional +10 boost.

Envious Assassin is great for overflowing the magazine, allowing you to fire for longer without having to reload. The best part is that to activate this perk all you need to do is to get final blows with other weapons, something you’ll be doing constantly without even trying.

An overflowed magazine works great with Detonator Beam, a new perk added in Episode Heresy. This is essentially another take on Kinetic Tremors, dealing bonus damage that chips away at tankier targets while also damaging other nearby combatants. This increases DPS by roughly 30%, making Trace Rifles feel much punchier and well worth using your Special ammo on.

Although this is the most balanced roll, there are some other perks that are worth considering if you are up for farming them. For a more add-clear centric weapon, it’s worth swapping out Detonator Beam for Jolting Feedback, while a pure DPS roll benefits from High-Impact Reserves over Envious Assassin.
