Destiny 2 players frustrated as devs disable key fragment for Prismatic builds

To fix Bird error code issues, Destiny 2 devs will disable the Facet of Hope, a frustrating move for players who say the fragment is essential to their Prismatic builds.

Prismatic subclasses joined Destiny 2 during the launch of The Final Shape and brought a few new fragments with them.

As one would expect, Prismatic fragments play a key role in certain builds involving the subclass, given that they augment abilities and stats.

The Facet of Hope counts as one such fragment, regenerating a Guardian’s class ability at a quicker pace when they benefit from elemental buffs. To the chagrin of the Destiny community, Bungie will soon disable the fragment in question.

Destiny 2 devs say Facet of Hope causes Bird error codes

For the last several weeks, D2 players using the Prismatic subclass have reported increased encounters with Bird error codes, which, according to Bungie, indicates a “general networking error.”

The Destiny 2 team investigated the matter and concluded that the best temporary workaround is for players to unequip the Facet of Hope fragment. In a post on Bungie Help‘s social media pages, developers noted there are plans to disable the fragment outright as they work on a fix.

The tweet reads in part, “we are working to disable the fragment to prevent further Bird errors from occurring while we continue our investigation.”

Players have wasted no time expressing their frustration, considering how essential Facet of Hope is to Prismatic builds.

In response to the Bungie Help post, one user replied, “Glad to hear you are looking into it. But not happy about having to change my class around.”

Another person chimed in with a crying emoji and a comment reading, “I just spent a few hours testing out a build that ended up greatly benefiting from Facet of Hope.”

It’s worth noting that not all Destiny 2 players believe the blame should fall on Facet of Hope. Several people responding on Twitter/X and Reddit said Bird errors haven’t interrupted them while running Prismatic builds with Facet of Hope attached.

One Redditor explained, “I never had an issue with Facet of Hope, what fixed it for me was removing any source of bolt charge. Really sucks that they’re disabling such an important fragment.”

Another player chimed in with, “I have not had a single bird code all episode and I’ve been using this fragment since it started.”

Bungie has not clarified when exactly it’ll pull Facet of Hope from the game or when the fragment may return.
