Destiny 2 Iron Banner schedule: When is Iron Banner next live?

Iron Banner offers Destiny 2 players a unique PvP experience that is only around at specific times of the year, with this set schedule dictating when you get to play.

Dating back to the original Destiny, Iron Banner has been an important part of The Crucible for several years. Only showing up a handful of times per year, the limited-time PvP playlist offers guardians something a little different.

Not only are there unique rewards to earn, including some of the best PvP weapons in the sandbox, but Iron Banner also has exclusive game modes that can’t be found elsewhere. To avoid missing out, use this schedule detailing when the PvP game mode will next go live in Episode Heresy.

When is the next Iron Banner event?

Bungie hasn’t provided a date for when the next Iron Banner will take place. The last iteration of the event took place between June 17 and June 24, 2025.

Upcoming Iron Banner events

Iron Banner is going on hiatus when Edge of Fate launches on July 15. Bungie confirmed this in a blog post on June 12, stating that the game mode “will be taking a well-deserved break,” returning in September 2025.

That being the case, the PvP, weapons obtained exclusively from the PvP event will be temporarily unavailable until its return in September.

Nature Reclaimed

destiny 2 nature reclaimed scout rifle
  • Archetype: Solar Scout Rifle
  • Weapon Frame: Lightweight
  • Perk 1: Outlaw, Killing Wind, Rapid Hit, Shoot to Loot, Lone Wolf, Heal Clip
  • Perk 2: Desperate Measures, Box Breathing, Explosive Payload, Incandescent, Precision Instrument, Kill Clip

Introduced in a mid-season update during Episode Heresy, Nature Reclaimed boasts an incredible perk pool clearly curated specifically for PvP. While there are some good combos here for PvE play, like Heal Clip and Incandescent, Scout Rifles are rarely used outside of the Crucible in the current sandbox.

Lone Wolf, Explosive Payload, and Precision Instrument are some of the best PvP perks available in Destiny 2 right now. Likewise, Lightweight Scouts, despite their inferior range compared to other archetypes, are among the best choices in Heresy’s hyper-fast PvP meta.

Warlord’s Spear

  • Archetype: Arc Trace Rifle
  • Weapon Frame: Adaptive
  • Perk 1: Dynamic Sway Reduction, Envious Assassin, High-Impact Reserves, Rewind Rounds, Hip-Fire Grip, Loose Change
  • Perk 2: Desperate Measures, Killing Tally, Jolting Feedback, Target Lock, Fourth Time’s the Charm, Detonator Beam

This Arc Trace Rifle is just the second of its archetype after Path of Least Resistance, and it completely wipes the floor with its predecessor.

Not only does it get access to Jolting Feedback, but also Detonator Beam, a new Trace Rifle-exclusive perk that is essentially Kinetic Tremors but even better. The former is perfect for add-clear, while the latter makes this weapon deal a lot more damage. That’s a big deal because DPS is an area where this archetype typically struggles, but this perk solves that issue.

What is Iron Banner?

Iron Banner is a limited-time PvP game mode that appears twice per episode. Each appearance offers a unique twist on an existing Crucible game mode, or even a unique mode entirely exclusive to Iron Banner.

Gaining reputation in Iron Banner differs from other modes with additional rank points earned as you play more games, have more Iron Banner gear equipped, and have the Iron Banner emblem active.

The main appeal of Iron Banner is the unique weapons you can earn as drops or focus using Iron Engrams. These cannot be earned anywhere else and have been known to creep into the meta in both PvE and PvP, making them particularly desirable.
