Barrow-Dyad Catalysts
Two Catalysts for Exotic Strand SMG Barrow-Dyad will be obtainable in Heresy Act 2. While the means of acquisition wasn’t revealed, we know that one of these Catalysts will grant the Target Lock perk.

Seasonal activity – The Court of Blades
Similar to how Episode Revenant’s Tomb of Elders was a spiritual successor to the original Destiny’s Prison of Elders, Court of Blades is a homage to The Taken King’s Court of Oryx.
Like Act 1’s Nether, Guardians can augment their builds with modifiers obtainable during the activity. Beginning in the original Court of Oryx arena, players will enter a portal to enter a new arena to complete various objectives. Among the locations revealed during the livestream was one set on Io – the first time Jupiter’s moon has been present in-game since it was vaulted in November 2020.

Artifact Mods
A handful of new Artifact Mods will be available in Heresy Act 2 guaranteed to give Guardians a further power bump. This time around, the emphasis is on providing further synergy for Trace Rifles. See the full list of new mods below.
Mod | Effect |
---|---|
Overload Trace Rifles | Uninterrupted fire from your equipped Trace Rifle causes the beam to stun combatants, delaying ability energy regeneration and exhausting them. Strong against Overload Champions. |
Beam Medic | Rapid Trace Rifle final blows heal you and nearby allies. Powerful combatants increase the amount. |
Elemental Siphon | Rapid final blows with a Kinetic weapon or a weapon matching your equipped Super create an elemental pickup that matches your equipped Super. |
Harsh Refraction | Trace Rifles do more damage to targets afflicted by elemental debuffs matching their element type. |
Limit Break | Casting a Super while you are critically wounded or have a elemental buff matching your super element grants a period of increased Super damage. |
Returning event – Guardian Games

Destiny 2’s annual Guardian Games event returns with Heresy Act 2 on March 4, once again pitting Titans, Hunters, and Warlocks against each other in a friendly three-way rivalry.
In addition to a new weapon, Arc Trace Rifle Keraunios, this iteration of the limited-time affair introduces a new boss rush mode akin to Into the Light’s Pantheon. Check out our dedicated Guardian Games primer for more information.
