Destiny 2’s annual Guardian Games event returned to the Tower on March 11 with new and returning rewards in tow, including a new Arc Trace Rifle that gives Coldheart a run for its money.

Strangely, Keraunios is the second Arc Trace Rifle to be introduced in Episode Heresy after Iron Banner’s Warlord’s Spear, although it’s the former that boasts the superior perk pool.

In fact, with the right combos, Keraunios indirectly mimics Coldheart’s ramping damage. The latter wins out for raw single-target DPS but this newcomer doesn’t lag far behind and easily claims superiority in the add-clear department.

To help you separate the wheat from the chaff, we’ve done some testing and consider the below to be the absolute best rolls for PvE and PvP.

Keraunios PvE & PvP god rolls – Meta analysis

For any weapon with below average reload speed or poor ammo economy, Overflow is a fantastic perk. After toying around with Eddy Current and Recycled Energy for the first perk slot in PvE, Overflow’s automatic reloads and increased magazine size are just too good on Trace Rifles to ignore.

For the second perk, Detonating Beam and Jolting Feedback are both top-tier add-clear options. If you’re running a build focused specifically on Arc synergy, the latter is preferred, otherwise Detonating Beam performs better for general use.

While Keraunios’ possible rolls favor PvE, it’d be wise not to sleep on a Dynamic Sway Reduction + Closing Time or Killing Wind roll for PvP. Trace Rifles are still hamstrung somewhat by unsustainable ammo consumption in Crucible but if you’re willing to deal with that drawback, this is one of the better options.
