New York Subliners have come back to the top of CDL with their trophy lift in CDL Major 4 against Atlanta FaZe.

Coming into the Major, most were not looking at the 2023 Champions as heavy favorites. After all, in the qualifiers, it was FaZe and Toronto Ultra who dominated, while the Subliners sat in the middle of the pack.

Once the Major weekend kicked off, it continued to be a rocky period for the Subliners as they were knocked down in the first round by FaZe and needed a lower bracket run to reach the Grand Finals.

This included having to make it through Los Angeles Thieves – who were on the upswing – and Toronto Ultra – who were looking to make a full lower bracket run as well. Nonetheless, they pulled through.

In the Grand Finals, Subliners met FaZe, who had not lost a map yet in the tournament. But after a back-and-forth series, it was the Subliners who won out. Coming into the 2024 Champs event later on July 18, all eyes will be on Subliners to continue defending their throne from last year.
