There’s still one more Zombies map to be released in Black Ops 6, but where does this final chapter take place, and when does it arrive?
Black Ops 6 launched with two Zombies maps with very different vibes in Liberty Falls and Teminus. Since then, new maps have arrived at a rapid pace to continue the Dark Aether storyline, with Citadelle des Morts, The Tomb, and Shattered Veil all dropping in later updates.
This takes the total to five, but we’re not quite done just yet. There’s still a sixth and final map coming to Black Ops 6, so here’s everything we know about Reckoning so far.
Reckoning Zombies map release date
The next Black Ops 6 Zombies map, called Reckoning, arrives with the Season 5 update on August 7, 2025, at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET / 5 PM BST.

Setting & story
The final chapter of the BO6 Zombies story takes place at Janus Towers. These tall structures are located somewhere in West Virginia, not too far from Liberty Falls and the house in Shattered Veil.
In the last cutscene, Edward Richtofen was seen leading Weaver, Maya, Carver, and Grey towards the buildings, where S.A.M. has taken the Sentinel Artifact.
The artificial intelligence is attempting to use the artifact to integrate with Sam Maxis’ body and take control of the Dark Aether. Here, the long-brewing conflict between Richtofen and S.A.M. will reach a turning point.
Gorgofex Wonder Weapon
Reckoning brings the new Gorgofex Wonder Weapon, a “new and grotesquely potent” pistol-like weapon.

The weapon seems to be alive with a “central heart-like organ,” with “fungal, floral, and insectile traits to deliver precise impact damage and gravity-defying disruption in close quarters.”
Here’s how the Aether-based energy variant works:
- On impact, this inflicts a dense area of direct damage with a tight area of effect. The damage of the impact varies depending on whether the user charges the attack before release.
- Shortly after impact, energy from a fully charged blast dissipates outward, inflicting damage in a wide area.
- The dissipation seems to cause a focused temporary gravitational anomaly, catching and incapacitating enemies to float at just above head height.
There are also “two additional variations” waiting to be discovered.
Uber Klaus Elite Enemy
You’ll go up against the Uber Klaus Elite Enemy in Reckoning. This “murderous automaton” is “encased in a toughened, bulky exoskeleton.”

Once you deal enough damage to destroy the exoskeleton, “the Uber Klaus Core will eject, revealing its second deadly form.”
This form is faster and more agile, and can even fly thanks to its rocket-powered hover boots. The devs recommend you avoid its arm-mounted launchers at all costs, so they’re potentially a one-hit kill.
Easter egg start time & rewards
The Reckoning Main Quest Easter egg goes live at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET / 5 PM BST on August 7, the same time Season 5 goes live. If you’re looking to join the race to be the first to solve it, you’ll need to make sure you preload the update.

Completing the Easter egg will grant the “Blood, Sweat, an’ Gears” Operator Skin for Grey, a new Weapon Charm, multiple Calling Cards, and a sizable XP reward.
All teasers
The first teaser was posted on July 23, showing off some of the map through security footage:
The second teaser was dropped on July 24, saying, “All hell has broken loose at Janus Towers.” It shows robots being manufactured, before we see a huge laser that pulls the camera operator towards it:
The third arrived on July 25, saying, “Help was never on the way.” Here, we see fast-travel portals before Uber Klaus drops down and punches the player after saying, “I intend to purge you thoroughly.”
While this is the final BO6 Zombies map, it’s not the end of the story, as it continues in Black Ops 7. The game’s official website confirms that round-based Zombies will return and that the narrative is set “in the heart of the Dark Aether.”
