Rivals is the next event coming to Black Ops 6 and Warzone, giving players even more free rewards to unlock, including powerful new weapon attachments and Scorestreaks.

Events have been a core part of both multiplayer and Warzone since the Black Ops 6 era began, as they’ve been the primary way to unlock new guns, attachments, and Perks. These range from CoD originals to crossovers with major franchises, like the Ballerina movie from the John Wick series.

As we head towards Season 4 Reloaded, Rivals is the next event on the calendar, after being hit with a delay. So, here’s everything we know about it so far.

When does Rivals event start?

The Rivals event starts on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET / 5 PM BST.

It was originally slated to arrive on June 12, as this was the date listed in the Season 4 blog, but it seems to have been pushed back to extend the Ballerina event by a week.

It remains to be seen if Rivals will still last for two weeks as initially announced, or if it will be cut short and end on June 26, the same day as the Reloaded update.

How does it work?

Rivals is set to be a simple XP collection event, which have become commonplace during Black Ops 6’s lifecycle.

All players have to do is play matches and earn kills to rack up XP, which sees them progress to different milestones. This can be done across all multiplayer, Warzone, and Zombies modes, excluding private matches.

Each new milestone offers a new reward, and there will be a final prize for completing the whole thing and claiming the final unlock.

Rewards

Only two rewards have been officially revealed: the Stryder .22 3-Round Burst Mod and Grim Reaper Scoresteak.

The former is an attachment that converts the pistol into a more deadly burst weapon, allowing it to function more like an SMG. While the latter is a fan-favorite streak from the original Black Ops, which can fire four rockets at enemy players or lock onto other Scorestreaks.

However, while the full slate hasn’t been revealed, leaker ‘realityuk_’ shared footage of everything that’s included. Check them out below:

It’s worth noting that these rewards and milestones are only based on leaks for now, so they might be adjusted to account for the Rivals event’s delay. We’ll be sure to update this page as soon as we know more.

What event is next?

After the Rivals event ends, the ‘King of the Dead, Master of Grief’ event is up next. This event arrives in two parts, with King of the Dead running from June 26 to July 3, and Master of Grief from July 10 to July 17.

This event is exclusively for zombies, where you need to eliminate enemies and collect essence to climb the leaderboard. Everyone who plays gets a reward, but those in the highest positions will get “the really good stuff.”

In the meantime, make sure you’re performing at your best with the meta guns in both Black Ops 6 and Warzone.
