Call of Duty has always had its fair share of iconic snipers, with legacy guns like the M40A3 and Intervention remaining fan favorites to this day. Alongside Assault Rifles and SMGs, they are among the guns that define the meta every year.
Unsurprisingly, Black Ops 6 is no exception, so we’ve ranked all of the game’s snipers and created the best loadouts possible for each to help you dominate following the Season 4 Reloaded update.
Best Snipers in BO6 with meta loadouts
1. SVD

Without a doubt, the SVD is the best Sniper in Black Ops 6. It has fast handling, can one-shot the lower torso, and has the quickest fire rate of any sniper, making it much more forgiving than the other options.
Also known as the Dragunov, this Sniper Rifle being ranked so highly might come as a surprise as, to put it bluntly, this gun has sucked in this franchise. However, this is the best version of it we’ve seen.
What makes this so good is that it becomes the ultimate quickscoping weapon with the Quickdraw Riser and Strelok Laser equipped. With practice, you can take out an entire team in one magazine, especially on larger maps like Red Card and Scud.
2. LW3A1 Frostline

The LW3A1 Frostline is a traditional bolt-action sniper. It hits hard but has a slow fire rate, making it a good option for players who are confident in their aim. Before Season 2, it wasn’t anything special, but a slight handling buff coupled with a big damage buff means it’s remained a meta Sniper Rifle that is well worth considering.
The LW3A1 is strong and able to dominate if you have the right build. We recommended reducing flinch resistance with the Heavy Stock to make it easier to land shots. After all, you can’t really afford to miss given how slow this gun cycles. Using the Rapid Fire mod helps mitigate this issue, but there’s no way to fix it entirely. That’s simply the trade-off if you want the fastest ADS speed possible.
3. AMR Mod 4

When it was first released, the AMR Mod 4 looked very impressive. This version of the iconic Barrett .50 Cal hit hard and fired fast, making it a direct competitor to the SVD. Initially, it was the better option thanks to its superior damage profile, but the Season 2 buffs to the SVD mean there’s not much reason to use this anymore.
Of course, the AMR Mod 4 is still a very competent weapon that can take down an entire team in one magazine. Likewise, it feels powerful and is lots of fun to use, with that signature boom after each shot being as satisfying as ever. Just be aware that if you want the most competitive Sniper Rifle possible, both the SVD and LW3A1 Frostline are better options these days.
4. LR 7.62

Despite this heavy-duty sniper being one of the weakest of the five available, the LR 7.62 is not actually that bad. Unlike the others, it can one-shot the upper legs, making it more forgiving and easier to use. The trade-off is that it also has by far the worst handling stats, which limits its potential in a game as fast-paced as Black Ops 6.
If you still want to use this over the other snipers, the Quickdraw Grip is a must to make it aim in as fast as possible. This at least makes this sniper handle reasonably fast, but it will still be outperformed by all three other snipers in most situations. To be fair, the LR 7.62 is much more competitive in Warzone, where its higher bullet velocity comes into play.
5. HDR

While the HDR is extremely dominant in Warzone, it’s not as effective in Black Ops 6’s close-quarters, fast-paced multiplayer.
Although it has a fast default ADS compared to the other options, its one-shot kill zone is the weakest of any of the snipers. This means you need to equip the CHF Barrel to improve its one-shot kill potential at the cost of some ADS speed.
Still, that doesn’t mean it’s terrible; you can still have a lot of success with it by using the best HDR loadout attachments.

Meta analysis
DexertoThe Season 4 Reloaded update didn’t change much in the world of sniping. There wasn’t a new sniper in the update, so the SVD remains the best sniper in BO6.
The Soviet gun is easily the best in its class, offering solid handling, semi-auto fire, and the ability to one-shot anywhere from the lower torso and up. It’s a similar story with the LW3A1 Frostline, which offers better handling than the SVD at the cost of fire rate. This bolt-action sniper is much better after buffs in Season 2 and is well worth considering.
Unfortunately, the HDR is the worst Sniper Rifle in Black Ops 6. It falls short in all the things that matter; it has a slow rate of fire, a poor one-shot-kill potential, and low bullet velocity.
