Battlefield 6 is holding an Open Beta to give players an opportunity to test the eagerly awaited shooter ahead of time without spending a penny.
After a small misstep with 2042, the first reactions to Battlefield 6 have been overwhelmingly positive. The initial trailers got fans hyped, and the gameplay that emerged from the early playtests had many creators convinced that it could be a real rival for Black Ops 7 to compete with.
Now, following the full multiplayer reveal, players can dive into the game’s Open Beta to try out all the weapons, maps, modes, and, of course, grab all those rewards from the exclusive challenges. This second weekend also brings playlist changes, daily rotations, and a brand-new Custom Search feature to let you pick your favorite map and mode combos. So, here’s how to get involved.
BF6 Open Beta date & time
The next Battlefield 6 Open Beta takes place on Thursday, August 14, and will run until Sunday, August 17.
The beta starts and ends at 1 AM PT, so here’s exactly when it goes live and ends in your region:
- Los Angeles: 1 AM PT
- Mexico City: 2 AM CST
- Toronto / New York: 4 AM ET
- São Paulo: 5 AM BRT
- London: 9 AM BST
- Paris/Berlin: 10 AM CEST
- Helsinki: 11 AM EEST
- Seoul: 5 PM KST
- Tokyo: 5 PM JST
- Sydney: 6 PM AEST
- Auckland: 8 PM NZST
This marks the second weekend of the Open Beta. The first of which ran from Saturday, August 9, 2025, until Sunday, August 10. There was also an Early Access Beta on August 7-8, but you needed a code to join the action early.
You won’t need an early access code to play on August 14; all players will have access.
How to play
As an Open Beta, all you have to do is download it from your platform’s store. You won’t need to sign up anywhere to receive a code, as all players are allowed to try it regardless of whether they’re a long-time Battlefield fan or if this is their first time.
How to preload
Preloads for the Battlefield 6 beta are now live on all platforms, so you can load the game ahead of the open beta’s arrival. It’s approximately 35 GB, and here’s what you need to do:
- Go to your platform’s store.
- Search for and find the BF6 beta.
- Download it to your console or PC.
- Wait until August 9 for it to go live.
If you’ve managed to get early access, you can complete the same steps, but you’ll need to redeem the Twitch Drops code beforehand so you can play from August 7.

Will beta progress carry over?
Beta progress in Battlefield 6 resets when the full game drops. So, your rank, unlocks, and any in‑game levels you grind during the beta won’t carry over
That said, cosmetic goodies you earn, like Twitch Drop skins or challenge rewards during beta, do transfer to the full game.
So you should treat the beta as a clean slate for progression, but keep playing if you want those cool cosmetics to stick with you post-launch.

The release version of BF6 will ship with 9 maps, so beta players will get to try out almost half of the game’s full map roster ahead of launch.
We’re not expecting the battle royale mode, which was reported by various leakers, to be included. It was teased, though, with a storm circle being shown front and center in a BF6 trailer.
Training Grounds with a Firing Range and class tutorials will be open all weekend, so you can warm up or try new weapons before jumping into matches.
On top of that, playlists will now rotate daily. You can expect mixes like All-Out Warfare with Conquest, Breakthrough, and Rush, or Close Quarters with Domination, King of the Hill, and Squad Deathmatch. New players under career rank 15 can also hop into Initiation Mode with AI Soldiers to ease in.
