Battlefield 6 players all saying the same thing about Rush mode

Battlefield 6 rush mode

Battlefield 6’s long-awaited Rush mode finally landed in the second beta weekend, but players aren’t thrilled with what they found.

Rush mode is a classic in the Battlefield series, debuting as Gold Rush in Bad Company (2008) before gaining iconic status in Bad Company 2 and Battlefield 4. Teams are split into Attackers and Defenders. Attackers plant and detonate explosives at M-COM stations. Defenders stop them before the timer or the respawn tickets run out.

Many stuck with Battlefield purely for this mode. When recent games like Battlefield 2042 offered Rush only temporarily, fans pushed for its full return. Dice listened, at least in name, bringing it into Battlefield 6’s beta.

Players slam Battlefield 6 beta Rush mode changes

Weekend two gave players their first taste of Rush in the new game, and the verdict was harsh. Instead of the intense, tactical showdowns fans remembered, they got something that felt stripped down and chaotic.

“12v12 and open weapons so it’s just a shotgun fest. They didn’t actually want to bring this mode back lol,” one player said on Reddit. Another summed it up bluntly: “Mode is dead.”

Even former DICE producer Jaqub Ajmal joined the chorus, noting, “They confirmed now that Battlefield 6 Beta Rush is going to be with open classes. Sad.”

Others lamented the reduced player count compared to Bad Company’s 32-player sweet spot. “64 Rush would be overwhelming tbh, but this feels too small,” one wrote. Another added, “Why? Like wtf, just give us closed weapon for every mode.”

Other players are hopeful this is just the case either for testing or just for smaller maps available in the beta, though they do admit this may be just the “copium” speaking.

Still, it’s worth remembering: this is a beta. Core elements like player count, weapon restrictions, and balance can change before launch. If Dice takes the feedback seriously, Rush mode could still return to the focused, team-driven experience that made it legendary, just in time for Battlefield 6’s full release.
