Battlefield 6’s second Open Beta weekend brings more modes, daily playlist rotations, and a brand-new Custom Search feature for players.

Battlefield 6’s first Open Beta weekend launched across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S and pulled in a huge player turnout. Fans dove into large-scale battles in All-Out Warfare, experimenting with Conquest and Breakthrough while testing weapons, vehicles, and gadgets.

Feedback rolled in fast, with players praising the scale and spectacle but also pushing for more variety and control in matchmaking. EA and DICE said the event exceeded expectations, helping them prepare for the full launch. Now, they’re ready for round two.

Week 2 of the Open Beta will introduce big changes. You get more playlist variety, with daily rotations mixing different game modes into single queues.

All-Out Warfare now includes Breakthrough, Conquest, and Rush in the same playlist. Close Quarters offers fast-paced skirmishes on smaller maps with Domination, King of the Hill, and Squad Deathmatch.

Battlefield 6 publisher EA said more than 300,000 attempts to bypass the game’s anti-cheat measures in beta had already been thwarted after two days.

And for the first time, Battlefield 6 added a Custom Search feature, letting you pick specific map and mode combinations for matchmaking.

Custom Search was designed based on player feedback. It’s not a full server browser, but it lets fans lock in their preferred experience. For example, if you only want Conquest on Siege of Cairo, the system prioritizes finding that setup. It’s currently limited to Open Weapon playlists during the beta, but it gives you a taste of more tailored matchmaking options.

The second weekend also keeps Training Grounds for practice and weapon testing, plus Initiation Mode for newcomers under rank 15. This beginner-friendly playlist uses AI soldiers and rotates between Breakthrough and Conquest. There’s also a non-playable intro to Rush for those learning the ropes.

Battlefield 6 Open Beta Weekend 2 kicks off Thursday, August 14 at 08:00 UTC and runs through Sunday, August 17. After that, players will have to wait until October 10 for the game’s full release, when all these learnings and adjustments will come together for the launch experience.
