Battlefield 6 anticheat is telling players to “please uninstall” Valorant

Battlefield 6 has gone pretty hard on its anticheat, requiring PC players to launch their entire setup under Secure Boot. However, along with those protective measures, it’s also asking some to uninstall Valorant.

It’s no secret that EA is committed to removing as many cheaters as it can in Battlefield 6. During its Open Beta, which ended up being the biggest in Battlefield history, the game managed to stop over 300,000 cheaters from entering matches.

This was partly due to its extensive anti-cheat software, Javelin, as well as the protective measures it put in place for PC players. However, while Javelin is certainly blocking plenty of cheats, it’s also requiring players to uninstall Valorant if they want to enjoy Battlefield 6’s Open Beta.

Battlefield 6 wants players to uninstall Valorant to play Open Beta

As revealed by players, when attempting to play Battlefield 6, some fans are being asked to uninstall Valorant, with an error appearing reading: “The application has failed to start due to a general software incompatibility. Please uninstall the conflicting software, or adjust its settings: Valorant.”

Naturally, many players in the Battlefield Reddit have been joking that this means “Battlefield felt insulted by having to share a drive with it” or by commenting “good riddance” and joking that it’s a sign to uninstall Valorant, but it’s actually all due to the two games’ anti-cheat.

Battlefield 6 has an anti-cheat called Javelin, while Valorant has one called Vanguard. Clearly, the two are clashing, meaning BF6 can’t run while Vanguard is installed.

As such, players don’t need to worry too much, as this will only be an issue if you run both Battlefield 6 and Valorant at the same time, therefore activating both anti-cheats.
