The plot of the Elbaf Arc is getting more heated with every new chapter. After his encounter with Loki in the Underworld and being lured by the promise of more information about Shanks, Luffy is back to release the imprisoned prince.
While this goes down, Shamrock and Gunko summon two more Holy Knights – Sommers and Killingham – to Elbaf. The captain finally reveals their plan of kidnapping giant children to use them as negotiation chips to take Elbaf under the authority of the World Government.
After Luffy and Zoro return to the Underworld in Chapter 1141, One Piece Chapter 1142 unveils everything that happens.

One Piece Chapter 1142 spoilers
Manga PlusTitled ‘The Thing I Fear the Most’, One Piece Chapter 1142 shows the aftermath of Prince Loki’s release from his prison. The cover page of the chapter continues with Yamato’s adventure in Wano and has the Oni attacking Who’s Who with Thunder Bagua.
The events of the chapter start with a giant snake named Jörmungandr – who appears in Norse mythology encircling the Earth and biting its own tail – attacking the Walrus School. Fortunately, Saul and Headmaster Kiba manage to defeat the creature.
The next panel gives a glimpse into implementing the Holy Knights’ horrific plan. A group of giant children are lured into sleepwalking to the beach, following Gunko’s arrow.
In the Underworld, Luffy has released all of Loki’s chains, except for the last one. The giant prince warns them that he can still destroy Elbaf even in this state. He targets Ragnir into the Adam Tree, causing a lightning strike from the sky, resulting in a huge fire.
Back at the Walrus School, children’s drawings of doodle-like monsters resembling Loki, Black Nika, Dragon, and others come to life. Ange remembers she taught the children to draw their greatest fears. As this goes down, the Holy Knights watch on.
On the last page of One Piece Chapter 1142, Sommers asks Gunko what she fears the most. She replies with a single word: “Nika”.
